We Indians keep having friendly bets during conversations about Sporting Achievements & Records based on memory & most of them are incorrect to the hilt but are wielded with so much confidence that they could put even Navjyot Singh Sidhu in full flow to utter shame. Here are the ones that you hear most often in the way they are spoken -

1. Cristiano Ronaldo toh Manchester United ke liye khelta hai boss.(Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Manchester United) 

2. David Beckham toh Manchester United ke liye abhi bhi khelta hai boss. Hum kal hi YouTube pe dekh raha tha (David Beckham still plays for Manchester United, I just saw it on YouTube yesterday)

3. (Popular amongst Girls) Our favourite for the World Cup is Manchester United

4. Sania Mirza has won Wimbledon.

5. Kapil Dev is the highest wicket taker in the world.

6. Boss, Sachin Pakistan ke saamne 2003 World Cup mein Hundred mara tha (Sachin Tendulkar scored a hundred in the Super Six game against Pakistan in the 2003 WC in South Africa)

7. Mahesh Bhupathi & Leander Paes still play together

8. Bro, Leander won the Gold in Singles at the 1996 Atalanta Olympics. Trust me Google it.

9. Wimbledon is Tennis.

10. India were in a winning position when the crowd stopped play in the 1996 WC semi final at the Eden Gardens in Calcutta. (They were 120/8 chasing over 250)

11. (Popular amongst our elders) Roger Federer and Nadal are ok, you havent seen McEnroe, Bjorg & Becker.

16. PT Usha & Milkha Singh have won Olympic Golds.

17. Dhanraj Pillai is the captain of the Indian Hockey Team

18. Sanath Jayasuriya had steel in his bat during the 1996 World Cup.

19. Roger Federer & Rafael Nadal are the worst enemies & do not speak to each other. (Fact : This)
